There are many things you can say about John Coltrane and don’t worry I won’t try and say all of them in this little sample post, but let me ask you a question, what other musician, (jazz or otherwise) has a church named after him? Coltrane does. In San Francisco you can go to the church of Coltrane. I’ve never been to it, though I lived in California between 1962 and 1980.
No tired old church Organ music. Nah! Trane is what you hear when you walk in the door and I can certainly understand because there are many who believe Trane was a gift sent from God.
